My childhood dog, Rose, passed away at the vet 4 days ago. I was there with her till she took her last breath. She lived a good 14 years. I didn’t think I’d have to say goodbye so soon but her health quickly declined since she was diagnosed with mouth cancer. She was the best dog I could’ve asked for. Loyal, gentle, playful, and loved going on hikes and adventures. I’m going to miss her so much. She’s been in my life since I was in 3rd grade so it’s going to feel very empty and lonely without her. I’ll feel a little more at ease once I get her ashes back so I can set up a little witchy space for her. Art has been especially slow for the past few weeks since I knew I wasn’t going to have her much longer and wanted to spend as much time with her as I could. Once I finish some other art I’ve been working on I want to make a memorial portrait of her. I also figured a good way for me to cope with her passing is to do a series of art of her and my fursona based on the adventures we had

Just found out a few days ago that my dog, Rose, has mouth cancer (Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma). So after taking her to the vet, what my family and I thought was a tooth abscess turned out to be a tumor and is most likely cancerous. Because she’s a 14 year old dog, the vet strongly advised against removing it since there’s a good chance she could die during the surgery. So for basically the rest of her life, she has to be on meds to help stop the tumor from growing as much as possible. The vet said she’ll most likely live several more months or possibly up to another year. But at any point that she’s in too much pain or she can’t eat anymore, she’s going to have to be put to sleep. Of course this is really upsetting for me… As the weather warms up, I definitely want to take her on more walks/picnics and spend as much time with her as possible since this will most likely be the last year that I have her 😢

I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life last night. I watched them from my backyard with my dog for about an hour before they started to fade. Though my phone picked up more color than my bare eyes did, I could still see them dancing in the sky. It was really cold and windy but so worth it. I posted a lot of pictures of them on my Instagram.
