Due to the Eclipse update, I've found this site so broken and confusing to use and even after I've tried giving it some time, I just do not want to bother at this point. However, I'm not entirely leaving. Every once in a while I may still occasionally visit to submit art, check on other artists who still only post to dA, and reply to comments (I may or may not disable them eventually).

Thoughts on Eclipse? Despite it being nonfunctional and confusing, there are some fairly nice aspects such as the profile and gallery layouts, commission features, and light, dark, and green theme options. I just think it looks a little too professional for a site full of weird fetish art, camwhores, and MS Paint drawings... Now, there are definitely some uglier aspects. While I love the concept of a profile banner/cover photo, it's too zoomed in and highlights the lower quality of the art. Same with the zoomed in avatars on profiles. Who the fuck thought JPEG images were appropriate for an art site..? The notifications and deviation pages are also ugly as sin.
Well unfortunately, for the most part (with the exception of occasionally logging in) it looks like I'm done with dA... Honestly, it upsets me to see what this site/community has become. I'm especially sad to see so many artists that I've been following over the past 8-9 years leave to other platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, however, considering dA is also now mostly made up of bullies, camwhores, and art thieves I cannot blame them for doing so.
I joined dA near the end of 2011 and was mostly active here during 2012-2014, and back then the site was fairly normal. More people were actually welcoming and encouraging and I had grown so much as an artist from interacting with others. There really isn't another art site that offers the same kind of community/experience that dA had...
I really do dislike the new dA as a whole. Even during the early days of Eclipse, it was still very buggy and downright confusing. I cannot understand why staff/admins have been ignoring so much negative feedback and suggestions on how to improve it (or, you know, just scrapping the idea all together) and have now forced a site onto us that is barely better than it's beta version and also very difficult and confusing to use...

My left lung was partially collapsed
My family and I were just surprised by this whole thing since it just struck me at a random time and nothing every really happens to me. I've never had to ride in an ambulance or go to the hospital before. For now, I feel much better and I just have to take it easy for a couple weeks while I recover.
